Who Is Lindsey Grove Church
At Lindsey Grove Church, we have a simple hope: to see people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their Christian faith. We are a group of people that loves everybody. We believe in the "togetherness" of family and friends, supporting one another, and encouraging one another.
Worship During Services
We are a traditional type of Church and sing many songs from the Hymnal. We have many talented singers in our congregation who often sing a solo or lead in special songs. We do not have a pre-selected song list for each service. Our Music Director is expected to pray before each service and sing how they feel led. We may sing more songs or less songs depending on how the Spirit leads in the service. We sing with live music such as the piano, guitars, and banjo. Each month, the third Sunday night is called “Singing Night” and the entire service is dedicated to worshiping the Lord in song.
During the service, you'll hear our faith expressed in the songs we sing, prayers for many things, prayers with people, prayers for people, and our pastor's preaching. All parts of our service are grounded in the Holy Bible, which we are committed to upholding.
After the service, give us a chance to get to know each other. Say hello to our pastor and anyone else you see. You should expect many handshakes and even hugs. We'd all love to hear your story and share ours with you.
Preaching and Teaching
Sunday mornings are reserved for ‘Preaching’ and Sunday nights and Wednesday nights are Bible Study. The Pastor preaches from both Old and New Testaments on a wide range of topics. Bible Study may be a study thru an entire book of the Bible or an in-depth topical study. Feel free to check out our Sermons page, Facebook, and YouTube for videos.
History
Lindsey Grove Church started as a group of believers meeting in homes and ‘brush arbors’ in 1933. A brush arbor was a simple outdoor structure that would provide a roof over your head. It often did not have sides or electricity. The community came together with their skills and tools to start construction of the church building in 1944. The building has been added onto in previous years to include additional rooms and a fellowship building for large meetings and meals.
Support Missions
We believe that supporting those in the Mission Field is part of The Great Commission that Jesus commanded of His people. We provide support for specific individual’s mission work, as well as supporting larger organizations that distribute to missionaries all over the world.
What We Believe
Our complete Statement Of Faith is very lengthy and very detailed, yet we want you to have a good basis of our beliefs, so we have provided some highlights.
- THE GODHEAD - Our God is One, but manifested in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.(Phil 2:6, Matt 3:16-17)
- THE SCRIPTURES - The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (II Tim. 3:15-17; I Thess. 2:13; I Pet. 1:21)
- SALVATION - “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”(Rom. 3:23) We believe that there is only one way of salvation and that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (John 1:12, 14:6; Eph.1:7, 2:8-10; I Pet. 1:18-19;).
- RESURRECTION AND ETERNAL EXISTENCE - We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment. (Matt. 25:46; John 5:28-29, 11:25-26; Rev. 20:5-6, 12-13). The terms “eternal” and “everlasting” used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the lake of fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in noting the duration of joy and ecstasy of the saints in the presence of God. (Heb. 6:1-2, 9:27; Rev. 19:20).
Leadership
Our Pastor is Dustin Wilburn. He tries to lead by example and live by the rule: Practice What You Preach. He is always willing to have conversations with anyone, discuss beliefs, and answer questions. He wants to be a help anyone that he can, and expects all Christians to do the same. He is very passionate about teaching people that salvation is the beginning, not the end. He strives to teach others the great things of God that come after salvation, and how they can live a powerful life thru Christ. He preached his first message in January 2008, and became Pastor at Lindsey Grove Church in January 2018.
